Vibecoding setup


In 2025, I was spending well over $1,000 per month on Cursor credits. I eventually realized that pairing a Claude Pro subscription with a Cursor Pro plan is significantly more cost-effective, about $400 for unlimited coding.

Current workflow:

  1. I work in VS code with Claude until I hit Claudes 5-hour usage limit.

  2. Once capped, I switch to Cursor and work until Claude limits reset.

  3. Claude agent runs in either IDE's terminal

MCP

  • Vercel MCP: Checking deployment status & Logs in terminal

Time-line

  • Currently: 2026: Back to VS Code with Claude Code

  • 2025: Discovered Cursor, increased productivity (and API Spending) by 10x

  • 2024: Claude/ChatGPT pro: Copy & Paste code browser-chats into VS Code.

  • 2023: Free Copy & Paste code browser-chats into VS Code.
